 Click to view full-size. Monopoly Game Composite Token Composition There has been quite the discussion on the composition of the Composite Tokens. So I decided to destroy a few to see what happens. With minimal pressure in a vise, all the token easily crumbled. Upon inspection, the thin outer coating (Casin Plastic) gave way to the crumbled material which was a combination of sawdust and clay. All the tokens destroyed had the dame composition. World War 2 composite playing pieces were made of a composition of sawdust and kaolin clay and apparently coated with a paint or casein plastic made from milk solids treated were treated with formaldehyde.This was a material process was called Elastolin or a similar process called Lineol.
