 Click to view full-size. 1938-1941 Popular Edition Number 8 I am of the firm opinion that this version was manufactured from 1938 to 1941. This diverges from the opinions of several other websites which say it is a 1940-1941 game. But Parker Brothers opened their Chicago office in 1938, the advertising inserts show many of the early games. And the use of both Patent Numbers is not found on any other game version after 1938 with the exception of this one. There are 2 board types - one made with heavy cardboard and dark in color and the other with light weight cardboard and lighter in color. There were also metal and/or composite tokens used in these sets. Occasionally you will find blue Chance or Community Chest cards. |
